Nigeria Commication commission confirms death of one of their staff in Plateau massacre


The Nigeria Communications Commission has confirmed the death of one of its staff, Zayyanu Shallah, who was killed alongside his friend, Zayyan Gwandu, during the Plateau massacre over the weeknd.

A statement on the commission's Facebook page, says Zayyanu Shallah, was stabbed and then burnt to death. Read the statement below
The Nigerian Communications Commission has lost one of its Staff in the Jos Crisis on Sunday evening, June 24, 2018.
Zayyanu Shallah, a Manager in the Department Of Universal Service and Provision Fund of NCC met his untimely death when they ran into a mob of angry killers suspected to be Birom youths on a reprisal attack against the Fulanis.
Zayyanu Shalla was killed along with his friend Zayyanu AA Gwandu, and set ablaze. The two friends were said to be travelling from Bauchi state and, unexpectedly drove into a carnage of murderers in Jos enroute to Abuja.
Their remains have since been buried in Jos according to Islamic injunctions.

Police arrest notorious gunrunner who supply arms to cattle wrestlers, kidnappers and armed ribbers in Katsina.

The Katsina State Police Command has arrested a notorious gunrunner, who supply arms and ammunition to cattle rustlers, kidnappers and armed robbers hiding at Rugu forest, Safana Local Government Area of the state. The suspect Safiyanu Amadu, 50, of Barbelu village, Bakori LGA, was nabbed on July 9,  following a tip off. Amadu was chased and arrested deep inside Rugu forest and two locally made revolver pistols and one 62mm life ammunition of Ak.47 rifle were recovered from his possession. The suspect has confessed to have intends selling same to cattle rustlers inside the forest. He is currently assisting the police in their investigation.
