Photo of uncle who set his 2 year old niece ablaze for defeating indiscriminately

Days ago, news of a 2-year-old girl who was set on fire by her uncle because she defecated indiscriminately left people horrified (read here ). Photo of the uncle has now been released. 2-year-old Destiny Kelvin was set ablaze by Leo Columbus Enwa, in Akampka Local Government Area of Cross River State. Leo reportedly tied his brother's child, Destiny, to a tree and set her lower limb on fire because she defecates around the compound and their neighbours’ garden. The child was later rescued by Child Protection Network, CPN, and handed over to the Basic Rights Counsel Initiative, BRCI, where she is currently undergoing treatment. Due to the trauma she suffered, Destiny can neither sit nor stand.  Columbus admitted he is guilty of the crime and explained that he started taking care of Destiny 2 years ago. Black woman spotted climbing the statue of liberty (video)

A black woman was spotted climbing up the base of the Statue of Liberty, prompting authorities to evacuate Liberty Island. According to law enforcement, seven people who are believed to be protesters have been arrested on Liberty Island. The report of the woman scaling the statue came shortly after a protest group calling itself Rise and Resist dropped a banner that read "Abolish ICE" from the base of the statue. Nigerian police discover bodies of 41 suspected bandits inside a forest in Zanfara.

Police have discovered the bodies of 41 persons suspected to be part of bandits terrorising villages in Zamfara State, north-west Nigeria.   Kenneth Ebrimson, the Commissioner of Police in the state confirmed the figure while briefing reporters in Gusau, the state capital. According to him, police personnel found the men with their throats cut at different locations in the state.   Ebrimson revealed that 18 bodies were discovered in a river on Sunday and 23 others at a forest in the Zurmi area of Zamfara. He added that four suspects were arrested after the bush area was combed while the police recovered machetes and guns during the search. The police commissioner disclosed further that the suspects were identified as members of a local vigilante group who decided to embark on a mission of “extra-judicial killings”.   While residents were unable to identify any of the bodies who they said were not resident in the area, the police said...

A self-acclaimed traditional healer, Edem Bassey Otu, pictured above, who was arrested with two human skulls while allegedly preparing some cultists for an outing, has said the Police have no right to arrest him because the skulls they found in his shrine were left behind by his father, who died some eight years ago. A member of the House of Representatives. Honorable Ahmed Maje, says he knows he is putting his life in danger after he stated that he has evidence to prove that politicians are behind many of the killings in Nigeria. While speaking on the floor of the house, the lawmaker who represents Wase constituency in Plateau state, said he has documents to prove that a certain politician recently imported container loads of arms and ammunition into the country and was not prevented by any of the agents at the borders, either land or sea. Emmanuel Emenike advice's Mikel Obi to either get security to stay with his father or relocate him out of Enugu

The Enugu State Police Command  on July 2nd rescued the father of Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi, after he was kidnapped last Friday along Makurdi – Enugu Road. Mikel later revealed that he kept it a secret as he was warned by the kidnappers who called him hours before kickoff in the crucial World Cup clash against Argentina and demanded N10 Million ($28,000 US) for the safe return of his father. Footballer Emmanuel Emenike is now advising Mikel to get more security for his father or relocate him out of Enugu to Lagos or Abuja.

Two female Corps members crushed yo death by truck in Bayelsa on their way to secretariat to get final clearance

Two female Corp Members were on Monday, crushed to death by a trailer along Swali Market Bridge in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa. The deceased 2017 Batch A Stream 2 Corps member were said on their way to do final clearance in preparation for POP on Thursday. Mr Ikechukwu Igwe, State Sector Commissioner of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) who confirmed the report on Tuesday, said two other corps members were injured in the incident. “Yes, the incident occurred on Monday at Swali Bridge in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa; the Tricycle the Corps Members boarded was hit by a Tipper," he said. "The two among them have died while the other injured two are receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre Yenagoa. Today, Tuesday, our personnel will be going to the hospital to check how they are responding to treatment,” Igwe added.
