Breaking: Bamidele Opeyemi shot in his stomach, rushed to hospital in Ekiti

Governorship aspirant in Ekiti, Bamidele Opeyemi was on Friday shot in his stomach and leg at a welcome rally for Dayo Adeyeye who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ekiti State.
Opeyemi has been rushed to the Ekiti State Hospital where he is currently battling for his life.
PM News gathered that Opeyemi was at the podium with Governorship candidate in Ekiti, Dr. Kayode Fayemi; Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu and Adeyeye when the gunshots were fired.
A top source said the bullets hit Opeyemi in his stomach and leg as he went down. He was immediately rushed to the Ekiti State Hospital.
The gunshots were said to have emanated from the gun of an unknown gunman kitted fully in Mopol uniform at the rally at the APC Secretariat in Ado-Ekiti to usher Adeyeye to the APC fold.
Opeyemi was rushed to the hospital in the vehicle of Fayemi, where he is now in critical condition and battling for life.
PM News also gathered that another person, who was at the front on the podium was hit by bullets and is seriously in fatal state and might die.
“The man was at the front of the podium and was hit severally by bullets. He was already in comma and has lost so much blood before he was rushed to the hospital,” a source told PM News.
The suspected gunman was pounced on by a mob and would have been lynched, but was rescued by the police and whisked away.
The shooting at the APC secretariat immediately brought to an inglorious end the rally to usher in Adeyeye to the APC fold in Ekiti.

Young man stabbed to death by gang of dangerous youths in Adamawa after he refused to hand over his phone (photo)

A young man identified as Mohammed Danladi Lade was killed in Yola, Adamawa state. According to family members, the deceased, a graduate of the Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola, was stabbed to death with dagger by members of a notorious gang called Shila during Sallah celebration on Monday,  June 18, at Polo ground in Yola Town. It was gathered that the gang attacked him and tried to snatch his phone but he refused to hand it over. They then stabbed him with a dagger.
